§ 1-1-17. DUTIES OF THE CLERK.

  • (A) Upon receipt of an application for an initiative petition number as provided by A.R.S. § 19-111 and amendments thereto, the Clerk shall assign an official number to the petitions and issue that number to the applicant.
    (B) The Clerk shall furnish to each applicant an initiative petition form as provided by the Secretary of State's office and a copy of the text of A.R.S. Title 19 and this article.
    (C) It is not the responsibility of the Clerk to furnish the applicant with a completed initiative petition form containing the proposed law or measure to be initiated or to provide the text of the proposed law or measure to be initiated.
    (D) Unless otherwise stated by this code, the duties of the Clerk with regard to initiative petitions shall be the same as prescribed in A.R.S. Title 19 as amended and the Arizona State Constitution.
